Mary L. (Hamblin) Barkas

Mary L. Barkas, 77, of East Wareham formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away March 1, 2026 at home in East Wareham.  She was the wife of the late Theodore A. Barkas, Sr.  and daughter of the late George H. and Mary E. (Collings) Hamblin.

She was born in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools. She Loved her family especially her grand and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and a good crossword.  She also had fun with arts and crafts, knitting, reading and cooking.

She was the mother of Nancy Barkas of Mattapoisett, Linda Barkas of Dartmouth and Laura McNaught and her husband Kenneth of East Wareham.  Grandmother of Kristine, Jimmy, Errissa, Patrick, Frank, Jr., Colin, Corrine, Katherine, Alfred (AJ) and Damien .  Great Grandmother of Sophia, Liam, Kayden, Karsyn, Madisyn and Farrah.   Mother of the late Theodore A. Barkas Jr.,  Mother In-Law of Stephanie H. (Probert) Barkas of Wareham. 

Sister of Carol Hamblin of Jamaica Plain, Theresa McIrney of West Roxbury, Carl Hamblin of Middleboro and Donna Forgione and her husband Anthony of West Roxbury.  Sister of the late George H. Hamblin Jr. and   Sister in-law of Jane Hamblin of Marston Mills wife of her late brother Paul Hamblin.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026 from 11am – 1pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham, MA 02571  Relatives and friends are cordially to attend.
