Elaine B. (Battles) Thompson

 Elaine B. Thompson, 90, of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and went to Carver public schools. She was a resident of Marion, Massachusetts for many years. She worked for many years as the administrative assistant to her husband, Arthur C. Thompson, for his company, Arthur C. Thompson, Inc. until it was sold. She also was a hostess in various restaurants in the area including Uno’s in Fairhaven and Charlies Place in East Wareham.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia E. Thompson of East Preston, England, Robert W. Thompson, Jr. of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts and Mark A. Thompson and his wife Jennifer Thompson of Rochester, Massachusetts along with four grandchildren, Kurt A. Thompson of Rochester, Massachusetts, Jake R. Thompson of Rochester, Massachusetts, Corinna Grota of Rochester, Massachusetts and Jessica Thompson of Assonet, Massachusetts and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Thompson and her brother Richard Battles.
